    thank you for this vid. I got one of the blowup intex pools for my kids. it's alot of water! and I didn't follow any of this and we emptied it out after 2 days, and that was it. we live in CA and just use the community pool lol. we moved, so i'm thinking to bring out the intex again, but don't want to drain it everytime. looked it up, and wow that's alot more than i thought! I appreciate your videos though, easy to understand.

    For those who run into the problem of hayward ecostar 3400vsp motor will not turn by hand. When turn on makes grinding crunchy sounds stops, display states, pump has stalled. Good chances magnet broke off shaft & jammed it up'd. Funny how the company doesn't want you to change these rinkadinks, cause you might discover why use ceramic magnets instead of neodymium magnets which would be stronger & would not fail like the epoxy holding the ceramics magnets to the iron shaft. That's spells manufacturing workmanship defect all the way even if it is a 10 or more year pump motor. The fact that we would be calling them out on such poor designing, the use of weak parts. You know if you can find a specialized custom magnet company to make you that piece/s that broke it would cost the customer dollars on the cents to fix! How is that not cost effective instead of paying 600 to 1,000$$$ & up to remove & install svcs by the pool guy. Sad how companies of all things scam & prey on us fitting these bills for us to get back to our life. Cars, tools, appliances this industry of scammers is at it's height if robbing us people for as much as they can. Charging us thousands on a dollar part. Learn to engage, embrace, take on tasks & learn to diy at learn to at least familarize yourself of how things works & you'll realize of how much you are getting ripped off, cheated & how people will lie to your face. Watch for the scams when the guy you can't see him do the work, he'll probably not even do nothing & charge for something you did not need but hey it's another day of easy work & commision for them. Or the ones that talk like they are intelligently telling you nothing cause you know what he says is so false, red flags are a warning for people to kick those repair people out of your house. A.S.A.P.

    Just to be a pedant pH doesn't actually stop at 0 or 14. Fluoroantimonic acid has a ph of -31.3 Ortho-diethynylbenzene dianion has a pH of 37.4 Complete irreverent to the question of pools but fun fact none the less.

    With such a small pool you can save your money by making your own vacuum. You only need a piece of old garden hose. Look up how to create a syphon, it's very simple. Swirl all bottom debris to the center of the pool and let it settle, then syphon it out.

    This video is just flat out misinformation! Phosphates are the #1 ENEMY in any pool! Once phosphate levels get over about 500 it is IMPOSSIBLE to get enough chlorine in the pool: you can pour four 2.5 gallon jugs of liquid chlorine in a 10,000 gallon pool and the chlorine will read zero after just a few hours (in a pool where all other water chemistry is perfect)! You have to remove the phosphates and once those are brought down, just a small amount of chlorine will keep chlorine levels where they need to be and your maintenance costs will go way down! Listen to the people who say phosphates don't matter and you are going to go broke trying to buy enough chlorine to keep algae at bay!

    I asked about ph and alkalinity being low and using clean and clear to raise them. I didn't get a response. I have a 10k gallon pool. I added 6 tablets over 2 weeks and no difference in showing on my testing straps. Should I use more. Am I supposed to put it in the filter? Does time of day matter? I added a bag of baking soda this week too. Like a 13 lbs bag. Should that help? It said on Amazon that it's the best way to stabilize the chemical balance.

    • @kayleighbull8033
      @kayleighbull8033 2 дні тому

      Have you tried adding some cya? You just want to get your cya to about 30-40 for a tab pool and then you should be able to keep a chlorine reading. First make sure your test is accurate and cya is 0 (people don't recommend test strips, I've only used the Taylor test kit and it's great, definitely may be worth the money for you so you know readings are correct.) if it is then depending on your pool size add some liquid conditioner aka liquid cya (granular cya is cheaper but only certain pools can use it) if your pool is small then just add maybe ¼ of the bottle at a time and test levels next day. If it's like over 20k gallons you can probably just start out with a whole bottle. (Shake bottle a ton, and when it's empty keep filling it with pool water and shaking that up, some of the conditioner settles on the bottom) Just don't want to accidentally add too much, because you want to have a good amount of time before tabs make your cya creep all the way to 100, where you'll have to drain some water. @HotSauceStain
